      Jim Pruden has extensive experience in the business and legal environment that is backed by advanced degrees in business and law, practice as a business attorney, experience as an executive of a public company and holding multiple staff positions at the IBM Corporation.   In addition, Jim was chosen to be the Republican Party's then District 22 Congressional candidate for the 2020 election cycle. In that election, Jim received more votes than any other Republican candidate in that District over the last 30 years with the sole exception of Clay Shaw’s re-election in 2004. On April 22, 2022, the Governor signed the new Congressional District Map into law which renumbered the District from 22 to 23

      Jim has been a registered republican for 50 years and has maintained the unwavering view that America is the greatest country in the world.  Jim grew up on a cattle farm in Maryland, later relocated to Florida, and has been a resident of the area since 1982.    Jim has a Bachelor of Science, an MBA and Juris Doctor Degrees; and in his professional career, he worked an aggregate of more than 45 years in technology, business and law. That experience includes practice as a business attorney for the last 24 years as well as various prior positions in executive management, strategic planning, manufacturing, research and development, and engineering. Jim’s law practice included representation before Florida’s Circuit Courts, the 4th District Court of Appeal, and the Federal US District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern District of Florida where he sharpened his skills in interpreting and applying of the Constitution as well as Federal and State laws, rules and regulations.  In addition to his litigation experience, Jim provided clients with legal services associated with finance, corporate governance and operations, commercial and residential real estate, intellectual property, state and federal regulatory matters, acquisitions and mergers, business alliances, distribution, and extensive contract work for various business related activities.

      Jim has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1997 and has had associations with the American Bar Association, Palm Beach County Bar Association and multiple Republican organizations.  Jim has also authored and co-authored a number of technical publications and received the Nathan Burkan Memorial Award for his white paper entitled “Protection of Software User Interfaces” awarded by American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers.  For his contributions to the development of the IBM Personal Computer, Jim received an IBM Excellence Award from the IBM ESD/Personal Computer Division at Boca Raton.  Jim also received two IBM Means Service Awards as well as many other IBM Informal Awards.

       Jim’s community work has included appearing numerous times as a guest lecturer on starting your own law practice at the Shepard Broad Law Center, serving on various boards, serving as a Broward County GOP precinct committeeman, coaching youth soccer, as well serving as a first responder volunteer firefighter.  Jim has now stepped forward to serve our country as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
